Last week the team had two home matches. Our Chieftains played Kearny High (11-7) on Tues. and Lincoln High (17-1) on Thurs. Against Kearny our doubles teams really shined winning 8 of the 9 matches played. Congrats to Mya & Samantha, Yaretzi & Skye, Autumn & Madison and Tessa & Kalista for all playing very well! Shout out to Kennedy Lin for winning each of her 3 matches, which really helped the team to keep the particularly going into the 3rd round. Against Lincoln, the Hornets arrived with a full team which allowed us to really strategize our roster to pull out the win. Both our singles and doubles teams played to win. Kennedy, Tessa, Sierra and Kalista only gave up 11 games to the 51 combined games in singles. In doubles the teams once again dominated, with each of the doubles teams winning all their match (6-0)!!! Kudos to Jayla and Lara who played some of their best tennis winning each of the matches they played.
This week, the team will play 3 matches in total. Fortunately all of the matches will be played at CHS! We were suppose to travel to Morse HS, but because they were unable to secure their courts at Mountain View Tennis Club, they will be traveling to Clairemont on Tuesday.
