Clairemont vs Patrick Henry(FLAG)

The Lady Chieftains battled the Patrick Henry Patriots in a thriller that came down to the wire. In a hard-fought contest, Clairemont edged out the Patriots with a narrow 13–12 victory.

Almost all of the Chieftains’ progress came through the air, as they racked up 327 passing yards, 13 first down conversions, and 2 touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Abby Mora (’28) delivered both scores—one hauled in by Kacey Otterman (’29) and the other secured by Alexis Benjamin (’26). Extra point attempts were 50/50 with the second attempt adding onto the lead.

On the other side of the ball, the defense checked Patrick Henry’s offense with two interceptions—one by Kacey Otterman (’29) and the other by Camryn Walton (’26)—while also tallying seven pass deflections to keep the Patriots out of the endzone with just seconds left.

Both teams held strong throughout the game, keeping scoring opportunities limited and making every possession critical. Senior, Alexis Benjamin (’26) had a stellar game racking up 134 receiving yards, 5 first downs, 4 flag pulls and 2 pass deflections making her the Player of The Game for 9/11.

The Lady Chieftains showed grit and determination, finding just enough offense to secure the win and carry momentum forward. With a record of 7-2, they play again on Tuesday, 9/16 at Point Loma at 4:00pm.
