Chieftains Field Hockey had a tough match-up tonight against the La Jolla Country Day Torreys.  Both teams battled all four quarters with regular time ending in a 0-0 tie, taking the game to 7 vs. 7 overtime.  With under 2 minutes left in the 10 minute overtime, Ellie DeLeon (Jr) was able to break through the Torrey defense on a corner penalty to put the Chiefs in the lead.  Despite the Torrey’s best efforts for the final two minutes, the Chiefs’ defense held for the 1-0 win.

The Chiefs hit the road against Rancho Bernardo High School in Thursday’s quarterfinal game.  Go Chiefs!
