The SUHI (Sweetwater) Volleyball Tournament was considered a “success” for the Chieftain boys Volleyball Team, who is in a “rebuilding year”, posting a 3-2 overall record through the weekend.  The victories came in pool play where Clairemont defeated Imperial in 3 sets; Monte Vista in 2 sets; and San Marcos in 3. This earned them a place in the Gold Bracket of the playoffs.  There they lost to a tough Mission Bay squad; placing them in the Silver Bracket; and eventually being outlasted in 3 sets by University City.  Overall, the squad (consisting of young and relatively new talent) flashed some serious potential and exhibited some really exciting plays.  The 2026 team demonstrated many positives to build upon in their first live game action, while reflecting on essential improvements to focus on when they get back into the gym.
