Boys Basketball Season Recap

The boys’ basketball team started the season with possibly the deepest team we have had. Injuries soon took care of that with at least six players missing all or significant time. As every year, we set team goals and with it being the last year for the Chieftains, it was even more meaningful. Continuing Our culture of winning The season went well only losing back-to-back games once and all other loses only by single digits. The boys were in every game and were ranked 4th in Division 4 all season. And with the help of everyone on the team League play went well, winning Central League (Last 2003) with a 7-1 record putting 3 players on first team all-league (Omar Rodarte, Jake Robbins, Blake Murphy) with Omar named MVP of the league. We went on to have 2 players in the top 5 in rebounding (Blake M, Jake R) and 1 player in top 5 scoring (Omar R.) in Division 4. Finally, we were defeated in the second round of the playoffs, finishing with a great 20-10 season. Our Freshman went 8-17 and played shorthanded most of the season with some bright spots as their player numbers were down. Our JV went 16-12 and showed some promising players for varsity next season. I would like to thank all of our Boys and Coaches for a great season.
