CHIEFTAINS WORK TO MAKE THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON MORE SUCCESSFUL
After a long three day weekend, the team faced off against the Buccaneers at Mission Bay on Tuesday and the challenge seemed tough from the start. MB swept the first round winning all 3 singles and 3 doubles matches, but our Chieftains never go down without a fight! In the end the doubles teams of Omar & Rocco and Yosif & Taj, were able to pull out one win each. The highlight of the match was the last singles match played by Kyan Riddar. Fighting tooth & nail, Kyan defeated the MB opponent 7/5! Unfortunately in the end, the Bucs won 15-3. Our match against Coronado on Thursday proved to be much better, as our Team hosted Coronado High School. The team fought throughout the match before ultimately losing 6-12 against the Islanders. Although the singles line-up was pretty stacked, the doubles teams worked hard and were able to secure 5 of our wins. There were some good doubles matches played by our doubles specialists, Quinn & Devan, Luke & Sam and Josh Hartman & Rocco Chavez. Special shout out to Yosif Shaheen for his 6/3 win in his last match … a great win to counter losing his first two matches in the earlier rounds.
This week the Boy’s Tennis Team looks to start the second half of the season by hosting University City High School on our Home courts, this Thursday starting at 4:00pm.
