Chiefs Field Hockey wins back-to-back on the road against Patrick Henry and Pt. Loma

Coming off a few tough losses, the Lady Chiefs were looking for redemption in back-to-back road games  and they delivered!

First up was the Patrick Henry Patriots! The Chiefs scored early in the first quarter when Grace Brown’s (Sr) blocked shot was knocked in by Kylie Lail (Fr) for her first Varsity goal!

Despite an offensive assault by the Chieftains, the Patriots held the game to 1-0 into the 4th quarter. The Chiefs finally capitalized on a corner penalty when a rocket hit by Maelea Silao (Sr) was deflected to the perfectly positioned Iris Hallin (Sr) to bring the score to 2-0.  With momentum on their side, the Chiefs quickly scored again when Maelea Silao (Sr) made a perfect pass to Grace Brown (Sr) who lifted the ball over the keeper for a final score of 3-0.

Next up was the Pt. Loma Pointers- always a battle!  The Lady Chiefs put in another early goal when Reece Brancheau (Sr) knocked in a corner penalty.  That was quickly followed by another corner penalty lifted in by Grace Brown (Sr) to give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead.  The Pointers and the Chiefs fought hard for the rest of the game, but the score held with the Chiefs winning 2-0 and the Chiefs defensive wall logging two more shutouts!

This brings the teams record to 10-4.  Next game is 10/15 at 4pm against Mira Mesa.  Go Chiefs!
