he Chiefs were looking for redemption after last weeks 0-1 loss to Cathedral Catholic, but Mission Hills’ Grizzlies were not going down without a fight.  After a scoreless first quarter, the Grizzlies scored off a corner penalty to put the Lady Chiefs down 0-1 at the half.  

Despite coming into the second half with high energy and numerous shots on goal the Grizzlies held their lead throughout the third quarter.  A hard-earned goal in the 4th by Maelea Silao (Sr)  tied the game and sent the Chiefs into overtime.

Dropping to 7 vs. 7 in Golden Goal OT the Lady Chieftains maintained an offensive attack, but the Grizzly defense held.  With just two minutes left in OT, Ellie DeLeon (Jr) knocked one in for the win!

Tonights win brings the Lady Chieftains’ record to 7-1, with another home game Thurs 9/18 at 4pm.  Go Chiefs!
