Well it was an action packed week of tennis for our team … playing 3 matches in a row! On Tuesday the Girl’s played Mira Mesa at MMHS. It was great because their team had a full roster allowing all of our players the opportunity to compete. Unfortunately the odds weren’t in our favor as the Marauders had a pretty tough team, and I feel like our Chieftains showed up with their B game rather than their A game. Despite Mira Mesa winning (13-5), we will have a game plan the next time we play on our home courts. Wednesday the team traveled to Coronado HS to play a non-league match against the Islanders. Keeping in mind that Coronado is in division above us, our team played some really good tennis which I don’t feel was reflected in the overall score (3-15). To wrap up the week the Girl’s played Madison at Home. Similar to Mira Mesa, the Warhawks had a full team but our Chieftains were ready for competition. Both Singles and Doubles brought their A games sweeping the first two rounds of play before handing Madison a (14-4) defeat.
This week the team has two matches and then the 20th Annual Pete Brown First Serve Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 20th @ Canyon Hills High School.
