It was a big week for the Lady Chieftain Volleyball program! On Friday, September 5th the Freshman squad headed down to Monte Vista High School for a tournament.  Several teams had to drop out last minute so the tournament ended up being a 5-team pool.  The Frosh crew was undefeated in pool play and then went on to win the playoff match to take home the first place trophy.  The next weekend it was the JV team’s turn to head to Monte Vista for their tournament.  They ended up 3rd in their pool at the end of pool play and worked their way through the gold division bracket to come in 2nd overall.  While JV was at Monte Vista, the Varsity squad was playing great volleyball in the  Buccaneer Bash, put on by Mission Bay High School.  The team was seeded 4th in their pool but finished 2nd in the pool and started play in the Silver Division on Saturday morning.  The team beat Canyon Crest Academy and Foothills Christian in order to get to the finals against Grossmont.  At the Sweetwater Tournament on Labor Day weekend we also played Grossmont in the finals.  We beat them and took first at Sweetwater, but came up a little short for the Bucs Bash and walked away with 2nd place.  The ladies played great all weekend!  It will be Varsity’s turn to head down to Monte Vista this next weekend and hopefully we’ll be able to add to the trophy collection.
