It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lady Chieftains ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday night as they slipped by the University Centurions with a 5 yard pass from Sophomore Abby Mora to Senior Natalie Hovey making it tied in OT. The extra point pass from Mora was caught by Senior, Alexis Benjamin in the left corner of the end zone, sealing the defeat and ending the game. A 20-19 hard fought victory for Clairemont puts them at 6-2 on the season and 2nd in their City-City league. 

The defense didn’t go easy on the UC quarterback, picking off two passes courtesy of Seniors, Camryn Walton and Jada “Button” Bunton. Button is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as she’s now broken up at least one deep pass in each of the last four games she’s played. Her defensive attacks in this game make her our Player of the Game.
