GFLAG vs Morse 9/2
On Tuesday night, Clairemont Girls Flag Football defended their home turf with an impressive 25–6 league victory over Morse.
The offense was firing on all cylinders, racking up 50 yards on the ground and another 244 yards through the air. Sophomore QB Abby Mora led the charge, throwing for a personal high 236 yards, completing 29 of 35 passes with 2 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Senior playmaker Alexis Benjamin (’26) added to the attack with 3 completions for 2 more touchdowns and 1 interception.
The air game was spread across multiple threats, with heavy contributions from Natalie Hovey (’26), Kacey Otterman (’29), and Alexis Benjamin (’26), keeping Morse’s defense on their heels all night.
On defense, the Chieftains all but buttoned up Morse, piling up 19 tackles, 1 QB sack, 3 pass deflects, and 1 interception. Freshman Kacey Otterman (’29) snagged a pick and returned it 16 yards, while Harper Gillich (’29) locked down the corners with 6 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle.
The Chieftains controlled the pace of the game from start to finish, earning a decisive win and securing another statement performance early in the season.
